Marj loved gardening, playing piano, stitchery, reading, church activities, and the Augustana community life. In retirement, she and Milt traveled, watched birds, hung out with the Golden Vikings, enjoyed their five grandchildren, and relished their lifelong friendships.

Marj was diagnosed with dementia, Milt with pulmonary disease. They moved to Dow Rummel Village in 2019. Milt died March 8, 2020; Marj moved into memory care, then the nursing care wing in 2023. She died in Ava’s House Hospice Monday Dec. 4, 2023.
