Slobodan Tomić, 73, of Sioux Falls, SD/Luverne, MN passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2023 at Sanford/USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
Funeral Service will be 12:00 pm Tuesday, August 29 at Miller Funeral Home Downtown, 507 S. Main Ave., Sioux Falls, SD with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery, Sioux Falls, SD.
Visitation with the family present to greet friends will be from 5:00 – 7:00 pm Monday August 28, at the funeral home.
Slobodan Tomic, 73 of Luverne, Minnesota, passed away on August 17, 2023 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
Slobodan was born on August 19, 1949 in Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina to Jovo Tomic and Leposava (Isakovic) Tomic. After graduating high school in Banja Luka, he met his wife Vlasta, whom he shared two children; Nikola and Nina.
In 1995 Slobodan, his wife Vlasta and children moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He worked at Carlisle Plastic Manufacturing Company for several years. He then worked at Sanford Wellness Center until his retirement.
Slobodan was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and a great sense of humor. He enjoyed watching Formula 1 races and going to watch soccer games. He also enjoyed watching tennis and other sports on TV.
He is survived by wife Vlasta (Vlahovic) Tomic, son Nikola (Kristi) Tomic, daughter Nina Tomic and grandchildren Luka and Kaien Tomic.
He is preceded in death by father Jovo Tomic; his mother Leposava (Isakovic) Tomic; sister Darinka “Seska” Caric; sister Vera Lukic, brother Pero Pancic, brothers Gavrilo and Mirko Tomic.
