Mong Ta, 68, died Monday, January 17, 2022 in Sioux Falls, SD. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at St. Lambert Catholic Church, Sioux Falls, with Rev. Paul King as celebrant. Visitation begins at 3:00 PM Monday January 24, 2022 at the funeral home.
Mong Ta was born January 1, 1954 in Burma to father Krain and mother May Ain. He was never able to attend school and worked as a farmer in Burma. When he fled to a Thailand refugee camp, he worked cutting lumber and as a woodworker. He is remembered as a good worker and friend and for being generous and wise. He married Ma Yow in 1978 and was married 44 years at the time of his death. He and Ma Yow had four children: Cha You (wife Anne Sae), Sioux Falls; Moung Lin (wife Mu Net), Arkansas; Beh Reh (wife Mu Ploy), North Carolina and Ma Nwet (husband Moung Yen), Thailand; 13 grandchildren, and several brothers.
