Timothy Walling
August 23, 1960 - December 13, 2021

Timothy Walling, 61, of Sioux Falls, SD passed away unexpectedly of apparent natural causes while working in Marion, SD on Monday, December 13, 2021.

Memorial Service will be 11:00 am Friday, December 17, at Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church, 4100 S. Bahnson Ave., Sioux Falls, SD. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service and available after the service.

Timothy Wayne Walling was born August 23rd, 1960 in Liberal, Kansas and moved several times during his childhood. His family settled in Casper, Wyoming where he spent his high school years and early adult life and raised his beloved children Shane and Nichole.

Tim moved to Sioux Falls in 2004 and married Rachel in 2005. They shared their life together and started a fabrication business doing work that Tim loved. They also had the joy of raising their cherished children Ahna and Christian. Tim was often known as the hardest working person people knew. He had an abundance of talents that he used to teach and train countless employees and co-workers, and sharing his gifts with others. Tim loved fishing, hunting, and enjoying the outdoors and the beauty of God’s Creation with his loved ones.

Tim came to a saving faith in Christ as an adult, and would want more than anything for others to know that no matter where they’ve been in life that God awaits them with open arms. Tim had written a personal testimony for a mission trip to Haiti he went on in February of 2018, which was one of the most impactful experiences of his life. In it, he wrote “As I look back at my life at this point, God has been by my side the whole time; guiding me, protecting me, never really giving up on me, even when I doubted everything. I’ve come to realize that my personal talents that I’ve taken credit for throughout my life are truly God given. I love my profession, love learning more every day, and ask for help to continue the path of sanctification.” He had also shared this verse with his testimony: John 8:12 -“ I am the light of the world, whoever follows me, will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.” We walk in Christ’s light even during this dark time…. Tim is loved by so many, and leaves a hole in our hearts that will never heal completely, yet God’s grace will provide comfort and healing with time.

Tim leaves behind his wife Rachel, his children Ahna, Christian, Shane (Heidi) of WY, Nichole (David) of WY and their families, his mother Wanda of Sioux Falls, brother Randy (Michelle) of KS, and many other relatives and loved ones that Tim has impacted throughout His life.

Memorials may be made to; Abiding Savior Free Lutheran Church, 4100 S. Bahnson Ave., Sioux Falls, SD 57103, Memo on checks should be Mission Haiti—Toussaint.
