The mission of this project is to capture digital images of gravestones of our ancestors. As decades pass -- many stones are becoming harder, if not impossible, to read the inscriptions they originally contained.

By archiving the images, we can help save these important records and also assist researchers using this valuable resource.

All photos on this site are copyrighted and may NOT be used on other websites without permission of www.southdakotagravestones.org or the original photographer. And Please, photos taken from other sites cannot be accepted.

We would like to build a research database of cemetery records across the state, and are looking for printed or PDF records from as many cemeteries in South Dakota as possible.  Please contact us if you have any to share.
